Hare and Hounds

at Haggate in Briercliffe

The Hare and Hounds is an old establishment, the first reference toit being in 1585. Parts of the building date back to that time. Courts and Public Meetings were once held here. The Haggate Chartists of the 1830's and 1840's held meetings here.
